Baby J is now at 8.4lbs, 21.5 inches for height and looking great. his first week he dropped a few ounces, so we were hoping his weight increased. so happy it did. He was a bit jaundice when we left the hospital, but luckily that all calmed down after the first week and is doing great now.
It has definitely been interesting adjusting to having two kiddos. Lily has had to make a bit of an adjustment to not being the center of attention. She feels the difference as I knew she would. She loves her brother, loves to give him kisses, and rub his head against her belly and armpit (yeah, funny kid), but she also misses the cuddles from me cause I'm always breastfeeding Jacob. We have to make every effort to give her attention and keep her entertained. I know she will get used to it and it will get better. Just may take some time.
Mark and I are pretty sleep deprived at this point. The first two weeks I think I was averaging 3 hrs per night. then with Lily awake during the day, it was impossible to sleep while Jacob was asleep. It was hell. Now after some tears, venting and elimination of morning basketball and workouts, Mark and I have created night shifts taking turns with Jacob and catching up on sleep. Hopefully it will get better by the time I go back to work beginning of next month.
Having a boy is also panning out to be different. I'm getting better at covering his penis during diaper changes so he doesn't pee on himself, which he has done several times! It's almost as if he waits for me to change his diaper to start peeing. One time specifically, while changing him I noticed him start to cry, looked up and he was peeing on his face. I dried it off, and then decided it was time for a bath. So I prepped him for his sponge bath. As I prepped him, out comes another stream of urine. he began to cry and I attempted to console him by feeding him. While he was feeding (nude) he began to poop. I cleaned him up and prepped him again for his bath... and what does he do? POOPS AGAIN! It was a pretty long bath. I forgot how often and how unpredictable changes can be :)

We had a calm fourth of July, BBQ with family at the park and fire works that night. surprisingly Jacob slept through all the fireworks, which allowed us to enjoy them.
Mark and I managed to go on a date thanks to great moms who are willing to watch the kids, Going to miss that when we move! I'd been craving Sushi since now I can eat it and we have been wanting to try Ramen, so we fulfilled the cravings!
We took lily out on a date today to go see Minions, we figured we need to do this each month so lily can get the attention she used to receive. At least while Jacob is still little. Love my little princess, she makes my heart so happy.
Blessed to have two little sweeties to love everyday...oh yeah, and Mark too :)
Side note...I died my hair a subtle red. I love it.
