Changes

We have closed a chapter in our lives and have begun a new one. We are finally free from our first apartment and have moved into a new one that we love! We will always remember our first place, and it will always be special...but I will NOT miss the leaking roof, smell of mold, loud neighbors and lack of maintenance. Can you tell I'm happy to leave? lol

Lily has her own room, which I am having a really hard time letting her sleep alone, I end up getting her out of her bed and bringing her in bed with Mark and I. Our place is brighter and has more of a 'homie' feeling. I have a balcony, which means I can create a garden, yay! We love it! Now if I could just have a minute in my day to unpack! I feel like it is never going to get done...but I guess I have two years to complete it.

My sister and her babies have moved away from Tucson. I am really, really going to miss them! I have been near them since Liz and sarah were little. To not have them near by makes me sad. I love those kids! But I know they will be happier in Utah, and who knows, Mark and I could end up there someday too.

I have gone back to contacts! No more glasses. Figured it was time to look less frumpy everyday since I am loosing weight. I am now at my 'when I met Mark' weight. But I am stronger then I ever was...I'm going to reach my goal!

Lily is getting teeth! She has two little pearly whites popping up from the bottom of her mouth. She has been so good while teething, as long as her gums are being massaged, she's a happy princess. She is also starting to munch on baby food and rolling over. Today she managed to roll back onto her back! She is our happy little Lily and the most wonderful baby in the world (we are biased, sorry).

Lots of changes, some good, some sad, but all meant to be for us to find happiness and to progress. Life is beautiful, and all is well in the Ontiveros home.

A World of Firsts!

Lily experienced a few firsts this week...here they are, documented by picture. I love my little Lily.

First plane ride! Lily did such a good job on the plane. Did not cry once, slept half the ride both ways and had fun looking out the window. I think we have a world traveler.

Her first chocolate chip cookie. She LOVED it. When I took it away, she began to cry...she is like her mama.

First pair of shoes. Lily has never worn a pair of shoes before. And her little toes looked soooo cute!

First time wearing a coat...I know, I'm reaching for firsts.

First time out in the fresh mountain air. She loved it.

First time skipping rocks. We were determined to get it done.

First Independence Day!

First time looking at water. Sad to think she can't see this in Tucson. She also touched sand for the first time.

Grandpa Arnolds Service

Marks grandfather Fred Arnold, died the day Lily was born, February 19th, 2012. He was creamated, and wanted his ashes to be burried in the family plot in Montana. This is why we went to Montana. It was a beautiful service. I have never seen a veterans service before, very emotional.

Breath of Fresh Air

We had the opportunity to go to Montana this week for Marks grandfather Arnolds funeral. Mark was able to meet his mothers extended family and able to see the town where his grandmother and grandfather were born. We also got to see the family ranch and get some fresh air.
There is just something about the fresh air of the mountains that makes you feel happy inside. We were not looking forward to returning to 100 degree weather! Montana was a beautiful place, never thought we would ever go there to visit. Heck, I didn't even think humans actually lived there! But given the chance, we would definitely return . Now, lots of pictures...

The cabin we stayed at in Thompson falls. There was a path that lead down to the river. It was beautiful and very peaceful! The cabin was decorated very well.

We made Smore's one night on the fire pit by the river. It was so much fun, and so worth the calories!

I wish they had this in Tucson! Wild game Jerky. Marks great uncle also made us Elk burgers and Deer sausage. It was delicious and did not taste Gamay at all. Fun to eat something new.
