January 2017

I completely forgot to post happenings from last month. Not that so much happened, but will be nice to reflect on in the future.
First things first, the sad news. We lost our sweet friend Coco this month to old age. She was my sisters pet for the past 13 years. She was the sweetest companion a family could ask for. Coco changed my views on dogs completely. She was always so calm, and was always so kind to my lily when she lived with my mom. Nanita and her family had to put her to sleep because she was no longer eating and could barely walk. I knew coco's time was coming to an end, and I knew I'd be sad, but never realized just how sad I would be. I could not stop crying when I thought about not seeing coco over the summer! I hesitated telling lily that coco was gone. When I finally told her cause she saw me crying, her response? That's really sad, I wanted to play fetch with her in the summer. But I know she will be resurrected one day and we will play with each other again.' Wow. Lily has amazing perspective. I know coco is keeping randy company right now, and we will see her again someday. Till we meet again Coco Bean.

I've been working on my goals for this year, starting with being on a primarily plant based diet and focusing more on adding all important daily nutrients to my diet. Green Smoothies are now my favorite snack...though I'm not loosing any weight, I am feeling a difference in my workouts. Which is the result I'm wanting. I think when you change your diet, we automatically think that means we should be dropping pounds, but now I have to retrain how I think. Health is the #1 priority this year.
Mark is killing it at work. He was recognized for his efforts at work by his co-workers. They only award this to employees twice a year...so he's kind of a big deal. He is going to be a senior on a project this busy season and is being requested by other managers to be on their team. I'm so proud of him and his hard work. Though we miss him when he works late (like tonight) we can never say he does not try hard to provide for our family.
As for us here at home. We are just hanging in there. I've been a little on edge lately cause I feel 'unrested' (see the below picture for evendince) Mom just can't catch a break! I love these little stinkers, but when you can't even take a poop without someone crying and banging on the door for you to play with them, make you go a little bonkers. I sometimes miss working, but then I listen to one of lily's jokes or Jacobs cuddles and I know I've got it pretty good.
On track for my fitness goals. In fact, I reached one of them last week! I can now say that I can clean 120lbs. Oh yeah! Next goal for cleans is 135lbs. I am now deadlifting 255lbs, hoping to reach 300lbs by the end of the year. Need to master double unders, kipping pull ups, hand stands and toes to bar, but I'm sure i'll get there by the end of the year if I keep training. I am going to sign up for the Crossfit Open this month, so that should be cool to see where I rank in the world of Crossfit...probably 102,000 out of 102,001 ;)

The owner of San Tan Crossfit took a picture of me 'killing it' at American swings (I was very flattered) I looked at the picture proud of myself, but then started knit picking at my body and how I could alter the photo before posting. but why? It wasn't a skinny 'perfect' body killing those swings, it was a big hipped, strong armed mama thrusting that 35lb kettle bell into the air. It was me. I usually rank top scores on the leader board. I can lift heavy weights and keep on going when others decide to stop. I work damn hard in every workout and give it my best. I'm proud of myself, why be ashamed or embarrassed of my body? Besides, I need those bodacious hips to go fast at swings, it's all in the hips!

And then he posted the picture on the gyms website for the Work out of the day. Wahoo!

found these two cuddling in my bed...gosh they are cute.

Thought this was adorable. He was feeling so relaxed under the warm water and did not want to come out from that faucet! Look at those thick eyelashes too, oo la la!
