Vacation For One Please...

Sometimes, mama needs a break....yeah:

And I got to getaway this week!
Mark had a scheduled work visit to Sedona. His company audits a resort there and one of the perks of being married to an Audit Accountant, you can go with them on their business trips. Down side, he had to work all day while in Sedona...or was it a down side??? lol
I was able to have two and a half days all alone (minus nights, which Mark got to join me). I think the last time I was completely alone, without family, was three months ago when I went to the store by myself for 20 minutes? Anyways, I was really nervous to be on my own.
Luckily, Sedona is a beautiful and amazing place. The resort we stayed at, L'auberge de Sedona, was so peaceful, everyone was so nice...needless to say I had a blast.
I had no plans, no one to please but myself and eight hours to do what I wanted. It felt great to be selfish for a little while.
Though, I'll be honest, I did actually miss my little sweeties. Especially at night, when we cuddle and read stories...though it was good to cuddle Mark all night with no interuptions.
I really believe that every parent/spouse should have a day or night alone. Great time for reflection. It sounds strange, but I got to be myself for a little while, listening to my headphones, hiking around, breathing in the fresh air, not worried about the safety of anyone else but my own...so nice!
I tried to document my time:
Day 1: Sat on a bench next to a peaceful stream, and read my book. The nature around Sedona was beautiful, amazing how red the rocks are. I wish my pictures could do this place justice.

After a little hike, I returned to our room, got on my robe and slippers, ate a trashy donut while enjoying some trashy reality TV (Toddlers & Tiarras...so ridiculous)
When Mark returned, we went to the movies to see Suicide Squad, we actually got to go on a date. Wahoo!

Day 2: Mark had to leave early for work, so I enjoyed my fruit and warm tea out on the patio while listening to some of my favorite music. Pre-workout pump-up.

I still managed to get in two workouts. Nothing like a good workout to enjoy your 'self' time.
I went hiking around town, ate lunch by myself and then hiked some more. LOVED IT!

Then of course,  back to my room for more relaxation. I actually got to take a nap!

Later that night when Mark returned, we went to dinner with his co-workers at a place called the Cowboy Club. I tried Elk for the first time and then we went to bed watching a movie...what parents night is this easy!?

Day 3 I did not document. BUT, I did enjoy the whole 5 hours of reading my book on the patio, the terrace and the stream. I finished my book and enjoyed every minute of my time.

However....I AM GLAD TO BE HOME!

I really love these sweeties, they make my life feel full. It's good to have time for self, so you can feel full enough to give yourself to others. Filling the lamp to fuel the fire.

On another note, I'm working hard to reach my crossfit goals, I have a new PR for clean/jerk @ 110. Still working on 120. AND, I've reached my box jump goal. So I'm progressing. Lily and Jacob have taken an interest in my lifting. They are working on their form ;)

I took lily on a date two weeks ago while Mark and Jacob watched football together. Lily's first time bowling, she was a pro!

Lily sang her first solo today in primary in practice for the upcoming primary program. She did such a fantastic job. I am so sad however, cause I thought I was recording her on my phone the whole time, and I had not properly pushed the record button! Heart breaking...oh well. Hopefully she will be doing something in the primary program.
