Welcome to Life Lily Naomi Ontiveros!

Lily Naomi Ontiveros was born February 19th 2012 at 4:55 pm. She weighed 8 lbs 3 oz, 19 inches, has lots of dark hair and is the most beautiful girl in the entire world!!
I was induced on Sunday at 7:30am because I was dialted to a 4, but my contractions were staying 45 minutes apart. The labor experience was not as bad as I thought it would be! I did not feel any contractions till I was dilated to an 8 and 100% effaced. They gave me the epidural which only worked on my right side, so I felt everything on the left side of my body...which hurt. But did not hurt as bad as I thought it would. I pushed for an hour and she was out! I definitely worried about it way to much, but I think that is what helped me to think it was not as bad as it was. I could definitely do it again.
We are so happy to have our sweet little Lily in our lives. She is our joy and makes us feel like a complete family. Mark loves his little princess and talks to her often about avoiding boys and staying daddy's little girl forever. Lily and I enjoy our time together...even though she likes to keep mommy up all night long and always wants to cuddle with us in the middle of the night. I wouldn't trade it for the world. She loves to cuddle with her mommy and daddy, and she is so soft and hardly ever cries. We feel like she has been apart of our lives forever and is not a stranger to us. I never thought I could love someone as much as Mark, but looks like I was wrong.

A Clear Sign...Please???

So this week has been interesting. I think it was a bad idea for the doctor to tell me I could have the baby this week. Because that is all I've been thinking about!
This morning I went to the hospital thinking that my water broke. After a few hours of testing, turns out it was a false alarm and my water is still in tact. Baby is doing great and head down. The exact verbage from the nurse was, 'wow, her head is really far down!' all I could think was, 'then why dosen't she come out already!'
I am now dialated to 3cm, but am not contracting enough to have the baby yet. Mark and I got to see an ultrasound of the baby, apparently I have a lot of amniotic fluid ( which is good). So if my water breaks, then I will know. I think the baby is going to be bald. I did not see any hair in the ultra sound...but she has a very cute nose!
Whenever I ask someone 'how will I know if I am having a baby?' and the response I get is 'oh, you'll know'. I hate this response! I thought I knew that I was in labor this morning, but again, I was not. I just want a clear sign...actually, a literal sign would be nice, one that says 'hey andrea, you're having a baby right now!'
I am sure that when it happens, I really will know. But for now, it is sure frustrating. Something that the nurse informed me, was when you are having contractions so hard you can hardly talk through them, that is when you are ready to come it. Best advice yet!

Valentines with a Hottie

We had a great Valentines day and no baby came! We asked her to wait until after Valentine's Day to come. She was kind enough to oblige.
We went to a nice restaurant called Maynards. We had lobster and caviar, and because Mark is still on his diet I got to eat all the chocolate cake! My only excuse is that the baby wanted it. It was a very romantic setting and a really nice dinner.
Mark got a new outfit to wear to dinner and he looked amazing! I am so proud of him and how much weight he has lost, he has lost about 45 pounds! He is looking so good and I can't stop looking at him... even though I couldn't stop looking at him before :)
We then came home and opened up our valentines present. Mark got the Kobe Bryant shoes he wanted, and I got roses and gift certificate to Gadabout salon to use to pamper myself after the baby is born. Mark is such a wise husband!
It was a wonderful Valentine's Day and I am so happy to be married to Mark. He is such a thoughtful and wonderful husband, and makes me feel so special. I have been feeling very unattractive lately because I am getting so pregnant and Mark is looking so good and losing so much weight, it is making me feel like he deserves a better looking wife who is just as healthy looking as he is. But whenever I feel that way, without asking Mark tells me how beautiful and attractive I am. The other day he told me that I am easy to love because life is better when I am around, that made me feel good. :) I love him more than anything in this world, and so proud to be his wife! I can't wait to have the baby so we can be a family!
Isn't he hadsome!

Me with my lobster...Yum!

I love flowers

My Valentines love. Yay for consumerisum!

Playing the Waiting Game

I'm going to attempt to write this using my iPhone because Mark stole the computer and I have no way of writing, but I don't write now I never will. So I am now 38 weeks and I had my doctors appointment on Thursday everything looks good. I am actually dilated to a two and have a 50-50 chance of going next week or before my due date. My doctor actually says I can go this weekend but I don't believe it, that would be too good to be true! I am so anxious for her to come the fear is almost gone. I've been having dreams lately that she is a boy, it is really freaking me out! I have all girly clothes and no boy clothes. If it is a boy I will choke the lady who did my ultrasound...lol. I am also hoping that she does not come on Valentine's Day that would ruine all future Valentine's Day dates! Speaking of love Valentine's Day and all that stuff, I have the worst dream last night it made me so sad! I dreamt that Mark told me he was homosexual and not attracted to me, but that he wanted to live with me as his best friend but he wasn't in love with me like a husband should love his wife. I think it's a sign I have been watching too many lifetime shows! Mark got a kick out of it, he even came up with a new song call "I love pee-pees not booby's... that's the last time I will tell him one of my dreams. Lol. Overall everything is good just waiting and waiting and waiting. Hopefully my next post will be an announcement at the baby coming. I am predicting next Friday! Yay!

Baby Shower pt.2

More photos from the baby shower.

We played a few games, one of which was guessing what food was on the baby wipe. I was really hoping that my sister would have used a real used poopie wipe, just to through us all off...guess she is nicer then me :)

This awesome diaper cake was made by my very talented friend Tina.

I was a little to excited about this baby Einstein toy...actually, I was just having a hard time pronouncing the names of the composers on the label.

My mommy loves to kiss the baby.

Nacole was demonstrating how my baby wrap works. I don't know how the baby is going to breath pressed up against my bosoms...bet mark wishes he could be in that sling ( sorry.) haha!

My mom was in charge of the food, she did an awesome job of listening to everything I wanted. hehe

Just some of the people I love most in this world

Very important present. Mark and I could not have a child that did not sport vikings gear! We just need a little U of A cheerleader outfit and we are good.

Tina is ready to finally be a grammy!

The Mommy to be.

My sister was in charge of the program and games. I love her and all her effort to be creative in the games.

Love the monkey blanket!

Grammy and Amma with the baby cocoon. I am excited to have them in the delivery room with mark and I, cause we are going to need some hand holding!

Just two more weeks! I go on leave from work on the 20th, due date is the 21st. I am really hoping I do not go in to labor during the work week...but I am getting pretty desperate for her to exit. Mark and I can't wait to meet her and to be parents. Even if it will be challenging. She is already a true blessing to our little family.

Baby Shower pt.1

We (as in me and the baby) had a great baby shower given to us this weekend. It was hosted by the woman in my life. Mom, Mom Ontiveros, Grandma Ontiveros and my sister Nantia. I am really grateful to them for putting together a baby shower, they made it a very special event for me. I am also grateful to all of those who took time out of their Saturday to celebrate the coming of our little one. Everyone provided me with some great advise and we had a good time. I am LOVING all of the gifts received, and it is such a blessing to receive so many gifts. I showed the gifts to mark, and he did a good job of acting excited about all the cute girl items. The only item I could tell he was truly excited about was all of the Vikings gear we received from his parents. She is going to be sporting some nice clothing. I can't wait for her to come!!!

All of the decorations were put together and made by my mother in law Tina. She did such an amazing job, and it was alot of work!

If you notice the baby birds, that is the theme of her nursery.

Best part of the decorations? Is I got to keep them for the baby nursery! Love it!
