October 2017

I love October. It is my favorite month, always has been. I love the cooler weather, the fall décor and especially Halloween. It's the beginning of the fun leading to the end of the year. The next three months will go fast, so we try to soak it all in as much as we can.
We began the month decorating for Halloween, making pumpkin spice stuff and enjoying also what was left of the warm weather with the splashpad.

He is such a ham. I have a hard time getting anything done because he wants to cuddle all the time. I guess that's a good problem though...I love his snuggles.
Jacob's costume was easy to figure out, he already thinks he's a Ninja Turtle. He practically lives in his costume now. Lily on the other hand, a little more of a challenge. She has such a big imagination that it was hard for her to figure what she wanted to be. So we made a list...it was a fun one. I really did want her to be a chocolate bar, she would've been delicious. But, alas, she chose Dia de Los Muertos Skeleton. I thought it was truly Lily. No theme costumes this year, I was lazy.

I was putting Jacob down for a nap when I heard the sprinkler outside turn on. I found Lily playing by herself on the tree swing and playing in the water. She was laughing hysterically at one point, I have no idea why, again, she has a big imagination. I love this girl so much.

These were supposed to be Halloween cookies, but mommy only had three colors...oops.
We also went to Tucson for Tucson Meet Yourself. One of my favorite festivals

We went to the Schnepf Farms Pumpkin and Chili Festival. We had a blast on the rides, ghost train and enjoying the fire works. In the top left photo, Jacob was actually really tired when we got there, and he was falling asleep in the picture. Little sweetie!
 Lily is such a nut!

We also went to the Queen Creek Trunk or Treat. It was packed and we did not want to stand in line for candy, so we played games. Lots of fun.
My sister came in from Utah to run with my friends and me in the Terrain Race in Chandler. It was such a blast! I'd been nervous about the obstacles, not sure if I'd be able to do them, but surprisingly I only skipped one! I skipped it because I did not want to hurt myself cause it was a really tall wall. But I made it thru half of the monkey bars which I've never in my life been able to do, and I made it thru each obstacle without difficulty. Not as hard as I'd anticipated, in fact, when I was done I wanted to do it again! I was not tired at all. Crossfit is so much harder. Mark was hilarious to watch as he hates to get dirty, but he did awesome and is such a fun husband to have. I love that he will sign up to do fun stuff with me and not just watch from the side lines...couples who work out together, stay together. Love that man. I can't wait to do it again next year with my husband, sister and friends. I have some really great people in my life. I'm going to try to do another obstacle race by the summer...possible Spartan Sprint?
All my strong peeps!  Btw, FitAid is my life source...I love it's nectar.
Kristine and Courtney were the ones to get me to sign up. They did amazing!
More Halloween fun! I really tried to make a Ninja Turtle, turned out more like the Hamburglar. Jacob was still grateful.
Roasting marshmallows and eating Jello Brains, that's how we do!
My sister is Wonder Woman. She looked amazing. Trunk or treating at our ward party.
And finally, Halloween! My dad came to visit, so we left him to pass out candy while we took the kids out. We had such a fun time going around our neighborhood. Apparently it's the place to be in San Tan. There were so many trick or treaters. Houses were decked out in décor, and one house even had a dance party in their Garage! Lily and Jacob had such a fun night, Jacob is still talking about it. We LOVE HAL-LO-LEEN (That's how you say it in Jacobnese)
Tradition Halloween night, we go somewhere dark (outside) and tell spooky stories. I had to edit my stories as lily thought they were getting too scary. But I've got some good ones as she gets older (muahaha)

Lily continues to do awesome in school. Mark is still enjoying his job and is now coaching lily's soccer team. Jacob is talking so much, though I usually have to translate to others. He is even going #2 in the potty, he is getting so big...love my little man! Things are going good so far for our little family, as always, I pray it continues.
