Welcome Jacob Randy Ontiveros!

Jacob Randy was born at 7:16 pm at TMC, completely natural delivery. What a ride that was! He is 7lbs 2oz, 20" long and absolutely perfect. here is a quick run through of the birth.
I noticed I had some light bleeding Friday morning at 8am, contractions came on about 9:30am about 15 min apart. Made the decision to miss my last day in the office, which was wise cause the contractions just got stronger and closer together. My OB told me to wait to go to the hospital till contractions were 5 min apart for a hour. My mom came to my house to keep me company and when contractions got to 8 min, she told me to go to the hospital. So glad I listened! We got to triage around 4:30pm,  I was dilated to 4 and 100% effaced. They walked me to labor and delivery, my contractions were getting stronger. My OB arrived, and I was dilated to 7cm. Dr. Chin asked for epidural before breaking my water cause she knew he would come fast, and she walked out to change into scrubs. While she was gone, I started getting really hard contractions. I tried to lie on my side but it hurt worse! When I rolled back I felt something fall out of me! Talk about scary! It was a sac of amniotic fluid. The nurse was pretty excited about it, asking my mothers to come and see, but then I felt the strong urge to push, he was coming out! They told me I'd have to deliver without medication, which I panicked then felt I needed to push again. They asked me to not push, which I could not control. Closing my eyes and saying few choice words, he was pushing out on his own. I opened my eyes for a second and saw a gush of water shoot out at a nurse, like a horror movie, just as Dr. Chin arrived. It was like a dream. Then a sudden feel of relief as I felt him come out and hit the bed. He did not cry, which made me nervous. But the gave him a few rubs and he started to cry. They gave him to me and I felt a whole lot better. Apparently the umbilical cord was wrapped through his legs and around his body from the summersault he did coming out riding the wave. So, cool part is I can say I've experienced natural birth, but holy moly it was crazy. Over all, from that last contraction to him coming out was about less then 10 minutes.

So grateful he is here. Has a very calm demeanor, hardly crying. Pray he continues to be healthy. So grateful he has arrived!

Lily is so happy to be a big sister and tells him she will take care of him. We came home Saturday night so we could be home for Fathers day, he has been wonderful!

Feel so grateful for the opportunity to have this little man in our family. Love my little family so much!

31st Birthday Done...Let's Have a Baby!

Had a wonderful birthday as usual.
This birthday felt a little out of the ordinary. Usually I'd plan it out to make sure we did fun stuff all day, but this year I really did not care whether or not it was celebrated. I can't take my mind off of the more important events that need to pass this year. I worked a half day, and then got to spend the rest relaxing with my little family, which is all I wanted.

We went and played at Chuckee Cheese. All three of us enjoyed playing our games. Lily on the rides and dancing with Chuckee, me playing Deal or No Deal and Mark on the basketball hoop. Overall we had a good time kicking back and spending time with each other.

Dinner with the family and then off to bed. It was very low key, and I loved it.

Got lots of after pregnancy stuff, money, gift cards and Mark got me a gift card to get my hair cut and colored after the baby comes. I was surprised the next day at work with a baby shower and birthday gifts. They decorated my office, which looked great. I'm very lucky to have such wonderful friends and co-workers.

I'm excited for this boy of ours to come join our family! I'm so over being pregnant at this point. Not just for the discomfort, but the worry and anticipation. Last week we got a little scare. I had noticed that he was not moving as frequently as usual, but since I was going to my NST appointment that morning I did not worry about the movements. He continued to not move very much during the NST, even after eating juice and crackers. So, the doctor sent me to get a bio physical ultrasound, which they measure different factors to determine if the baby is distressed. He got a 6 out of 8 because of his lack of breathing movements to show he was practicing breathing. I guess that, combined with the lack of movements caused my OB to want me to go to the hospital to be evaluated. She said, 'worse case scenario, you'll be induced today.' I would have thought i'd be thrilled to potentially have the baby that day, but I wasn't, I was scared. I did not want him to be forced out due to potential risks or complications. Luckily he began to move more and gave the OB what they needed to excuse me from the hospital.

I went in for my normal appointment yesterday, and everything looked good with the baby. I was dilated to 4cm and showing some good progress.

This morning I noticed some light bleeding and have now been having contractions every 10 min. We'll see what happens but looks like we may have the baby between tonight and tomorrow...but who knows. They are super painful contractions, which is a much different experience then with Lily, but then again this experience has been different from the start. Just pray for a safe labor and delivery.  

We've pretty much decided on a name, but will wait to announce it till he's born.

Lily also got her first hair cut this weekend, it was a dreaded moment for me, but fortunately her curls stayed in tact.

He Has a Face!

FINALLY got a picture of the little man's face! Luckily I had a friendly technician who was wanting to see his face more then me. He kept his face hidden for a long time, and finally graced us with half his face.

I CAN'T WAIT TO KISS THOSE CHUBBY CHEEKS! This definitely made my day. He looks so much like Lily already.

Scheduled to be induced 6.23.15 at 7:30am...can't wait!

Finally June!

Alright, so we are at the final stretch.

Had an ultrasound about two weeks ago and they discovered that I have 2 cm too much amniotic fluid. The condition is called 'Polyhydramnios'. I've always assumed having too little amniotic fluid would be the only need to be concerned, but having too much is too. of course, right away I turn to google, which is stupid, because you see all the worst case scenarios for the condition show up: hemorrhaging after birth, still births and placenta abruption...and so on. And according to 'The Google', the cause may be due to genetic abnormalities or infection, so of course, I begin to worry. Talking to my physician, has put me at ease. In over 65% of cases there is no way to pinpoint the cause, and mothers can still have healthy delivery's'. My OB believes that I may have had the same issue when pregnant with Lily, cause when she broke my water she commented on how much water there was. On the plus side, I get to have an NST and Ultrasound every week to check on the baby, wohoo! Baby is doing really well however, and there is not a huge concern since I'm on the low end of 'too much'. He is being monitored, and we are all aware so we can take precaution, which is comforting. Due to the extra fluid however, I feel extra uncomfortable. I'm constantly having to take deep breaths due to the pressure on my lungs. I feel so heavy and huge right now! Because of this, I was not able to walk the 5k this weekend, which was a really big bummer to my ego. But I know I would have felt terrible the next day had I done the walk. We've recommitted to completing it, running, next year 2016.

Two weeks ago the baby was measuring at about 5.6 lbs. As of last week we found out he has hair on his head, but the little stinker will not turn from facing my back to see his face! We got a nice shot of his twig and berries, which Mark says look too big to be testicles (he's just jealous. lol) He still moves around a lot, which I love and worries me when he is not constantly wiggling around. He is faced down head first right now, and I'm dilated to 1cm...which is a good sign we are making progress. We have gone ahead and scheduled me to be educed for sure on June 23rd, unless the little man decides to come earlier (hope he does!). At least we have an end point. My co-workers are creating a pool to see when the baby will come. Some say the week of the 14th, one said the 9th....but who knows. I've been having a lot of contractions this week, some other signs of preterm labor as well, so it may be next week? I'll have another appointment on Thursday with the doctor, so we will see if I've made further progress this week.

BIG MAMA! 36 Weeks (If it looks like I've been crying, it's cause I had just watched the Sixth Sense, and the end made me cry like a baby...don't watch sad movies while pregnant!)

So, three more weeks for sure. Can't wait to meet my little man, it'll be a relief to have him here safe and sound. Lots of prayers for a safe labor and delivery and healthy Mommy and Baby Boy.

And....we still do not have a name :)

Now for Lily updates...
She's the best, as usual. Mark signed her up for Dance Classes for the summer, he is such a cute daddy taking his baby girl to lessons...wish I could go!

We also took her to a Frozen Sing-a-Long last Saturday and she had a blast! Love my little mini Elsa.

She was so excited, but totally star struck, she had forgotten how to speak!
