Lily Lu Lu is 10!
We now have a child in the double digits. Can't even believe that Lily is 10 now. Time is just flying by and I'm not sure I like it. Luckily she is the most amazing person in the world, so I guess it's okay that she is growing older. Lily is a ray of sunshine in this sometimes very dark world. Always optimistic and look at the brightside of life, she is truly one of a kind. She loves others feircly and they feel the love she has for them. She is very creative and inspirational, always coming up with clever sayings. She loves to hang out in her room listening to dance music while making a creative craft or painting some mythical dragons. She is starting to get her own sense of syle and enjoys going shopping for clothes with me which I love. I'm pretty sure school is her favorite place to be, she is incredibly smart and enjoys learning. This girl is always up for any activity we want to get her involved in. Right now she is doing flag football, the only girl on her team but it doesn't seem to phase her. Lily is tough, she will not cry in front of anyone but admits when something bothers her, she just won't cry about it. She is a total people pleaser which we are trying to balance with a healthy 'no, I don't want to', but it's hard for her to do with her kind heart. She just cares so much about the feelings of her family members and always wants them to be happy. It's a blessing and a curse for her. She is hilarious, again, always wanting to make others happy she is always trying to make people laugh. Lily is everyones friend and to her, everyone is her friend as well. Love my kind, hilarious, optimistic and insanley smart Lily lu lu.
She has been wanting a birthday party since she couldn't spend her birthday with friends last year, so she asked for a late night birthday party (slumber party themed). She invited about 12 friends, we bought a projector to watch movies in the backyard, bought pizza/donughts and lots of glow sticks and glow balloons. Each guest brought their favorite blanket/pillow to lay on and wore their warmest pj's. They all had a blast! the sound on the projector didn't work too well, but they jumped on the trampoline and ran around playing anyways so it didn't seem to change the fun mood. After everyone left lily kept talking about how she had the best birhtday party ever. I think it was a success.
Mark tested positive for covid saturday morning, fortunatly he stayed inside with Nacho all Friday night and had no interaction with the kids outside. So, that changed our plans for Lilys birthday day and sunday to visit family in Tucson. I tested negative, so me and the two older kids went shopping at the outdoor mall and went to all the shops lily wanted to go to...masked of course. She had a great birthday. We hungout on Sunday inside, she enjoyed the chill out day. Overall, I think she had a great birthday despite the setbacks. I kept apologizing to her for the day not going to plan, but in classic Lily fashion she says 'when things don't go as planned, you still plan to have fun no matter what.' I love her so much.
Happy Birthday to our beautiful daughter, our first born, my first unconditional love.
