2 years of Bliss

Happy 2 year anniversary to mark and I. Today was just a regular day due to it being the sabbath and we wanted to keep it holy. No going out, visited with family and enjoyed our sunday walk together...and it was wonderful. I love my husband. He is such a good man and is always trying to make me laugh and be happy. It is especially wonderful to have him by my side while I am going through the paronoia of pregnancy.
I have been worried because I have yet to feel the baby move and I am 18 1/2 weeks along. I am hearing that I won't expect to feel anything till at least 23 weeks, but I can't help but feel nervous about it. I also used my mother in laws stethascope to try to hear the babies heart beat and I didn't hear anything. This really left me discouraged today. After talking to my mom, and talking to mark, I feel a little better. Mark always places things into prespective for me, he is so wise. I know that I should not worry about the baby cause it will only add more stress for my little sweetie. I also need to not worry about things that I cannot control. I am just so excited about being a mother and I want to do everything that i can to bring this baby into the world healthy and safe. But I need to trust that it is all acording to the lords will. No matter what happens, I have a loving husband who supports me, protects me and helps me to be happy in this life, and that is all I need to focus on. Besides, I go to the doctors tomorrow...so I should feel better after that.

My Awww Moments

Okay, I am going to be cheesy for a minute.

My favorite thing thus far about being pregnant, is that every time Mark comes home from somewhere and gives me a kiss hello, he bends down to kiss my belly and says "hello baby". Makes me get teary eyed every time! He is so cute. He will also rub my belly every night while we go to sleep. He is going to be such a wonderful father, I just can't wait to see him with our little one.

On that note, here is the first item that Mark and I have purchased for the baby thus far. It is a bibb. When mark and i saw it at m&m world in vegas, we laughed. I pictured the bibb saying 'aw crap, i'm going to get dirty'...which is what I would say if I were a baby bibb...i know, i'm weird.
I'm excited to get more items, but I want to wait till we know what the sex is. We find out on October 7th. I just pray the baby is still developing correctly and is healthy.

Love the Birthday Boy!

My sweetheart has turned the big 25! He is now a quarter of a century old! I feel so old...haha. I am so grateful that he was born so he could be in my life forever! He is going to be the most wonderful father to our children because he is the most wonderful husband in the world!

We had a lot of fun on his birthday, kind of hard to celebrate the whole day due to work and school...but eventually we got our party on.

We went out to dinner with the Gardners (Jonathan and Alyssa) and then came home for some cupcakes. It was fun to get together with them, we always have some really funny discussions when they are around. Mark and Jonathan have been friends for a long time, which I am sure that will never cease. Mark even got a one free man date from Jonathan, I should be worried...but at least mark will enjoy himself? haha.

Though we will be celebrating more on saturday and sunday, it is always nice to have a quiet birthday celebration with just a couple friends, and besides...it is not just a birthDAY in the Onitveros family, it is a birthWEEK. I am excited for the day when we can celebrate with our children...hey, that is only next year! YAY!

I love my birthday boy!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Always Remember

Today in my primary class we celebrated the birthday of one of our little girls who was born on 9/11/01. One of the kids in the class said to her 'it is kind of sad that you were born on 9/11'. The little girl looked a little sad after this comment, so I said the the boy who made the comment 'actually it is really wonderful that she was born on 9/11, cause she was one of those babies that showed us that even though bad things happen, we can look forward that life goes on and we can still find joy in life.' After that I shared about where I was on 9/11 and what I felt when I saw the towers fall. None of the children in my class (other then the birthday girl) were alive at the time of 9/11, so they were interested in hearing from someone who witnessed the tragedy.
This made me think about my children and how we someday will have to tell them about that day and where we were. Mark and I talked about our experiences and how we felt that day, we both talked about how we would never forget what happened and always remember those who were lost. Through that remembrance, we can honor them by teaching our children about what happened and how from tragedy, there is hope for happiness...no matter what!

Las Vegas Vacation

Mark and I decided to celebrate our anniversary early this year since we could use labor day and take a longer vacation. So, we decided to go to Las Vegas. This was Mark's first time in Vegas, and my first time being with someone my own age to have fun with...plus, being married and going on vacation is SO much more fun then being single and going with your family. Anyways. We stayed at the Monte Carlo hotel & Casino, they had a really awesome view of the strip from our room, a lazy river pool plus wave pool and they had some fun slot machines that mark and I did not feel guilty playing. We gained 13 dollars playing deal or no deal, but then used it to gamble again and lost all but 86 cents. Oh well, it was still fun!
We also visited the coke store and tried 8 different kinds of rootbeer floats and 16 different soft drinks from around the world. Some were foul, but others were delicious. M&M world was cool. I got the cutest baby bibb for our little sweetie, this is our first item for the baby, so I was pretty excited.
We walked around the different casinos, mark got some signed photos from some of his favorite vikings players and we ate at the most incredible restaurants and buffets. The Aria and Belagio buffet are incredible! We also visted the fine art exhibit in the Belagio, it was amazing to see how much art has changed since the 1800's.
We also dressed up and went out for dinner and a show. We saw The Lion King, this is the last year that it will be in vegas, so we thought we should see it. I wanted to see a cirque dus ole show, but I am glad we decided to see the lion king cause it was so beautiful. The way that they create the costumes for the animals, is breathtaking.
Our last day in vegas we did a lot of shopping, bought a lot of candy at a store called 'the sugar factory' which sold catoure lollipop suckers for 30 dollars! So funny, and no I did not buy one. I was tempeted to though. Our last stop was at Gold and Silver pawn, home of 'pawn stars' on TV. We did this mainly for Marks dad who is a fan of the show, mark was happy to go to tell his dad what he saw. It was really cool to see all of the items that have been pawned. We saw superbowl championship rings, a baseball signed by babe ruth and lots of poker chips.
This was such a fun and wonderful vacation! The best part is that it was only to two of us, no appointments to go to, no work and especially NO GOLF! haha, mark is such an amazing husband to hold off on practicing for four days. I love him so much and he is my best friend. I love how much fun we have together and that we never run out of things to talk about. I am so grateful for this vacation and the time we got to spend together. I WANT TO GO BACK!
Here is a video of the fountain show at the Belagio:
