Easter 2013
This Easter was a little bit different then most. Saturday night Lily came down with a stomach bug she caught from her 2nd cousins and was throwing up all night. We were coloring eggs in between catching vomit in a bowl. My poor little sweetie, it was so sad.
We spent the night in the family room, I slept of the big giant gorilla with lily and mark slept in the recliner. Needless to say, it was a rough night.
All night I prayed that she would be better by morning so she could enjoy Easter. In the morning, she was fine. Eating candy from the Easter bunny and getting into the drawers like usual. It was such a blessing. I know heavenly father listens to prayers!
Lily looked adorable in her Easter dress from her Auntie Clarice and she got lots of goodies from the Easter Bunny.
I am so grateful for a loving heavenly father, who was willing to allow his first born son to come to earth, and suffer for our wrong doings so we can strive, everyday to be perfect to live with him again. I don't know how he could bear seeing Jesus suffer in that way, how painful that must have been. But I am grateful he allowed it to happen, so I can be with my family forever and enjoy the blessings of living a healthy life as I repent, everyday.

June 1st 5K
So, I come from a family of competitors. My brothers and sister all have or do participate in athletics, triathlons, marathons, etc. Myself, I've never participated in an athletic event in my life! It is time for me to stop wishing I had the courage to compete, and JUST DO IT!
June 1st I will be running in my first 5K at the TMC Meet me downtown walk/run. It's no marathon, but I am still really nervous to run. I enjoy running, it is not a difficult thing for me to do, but I run at my own pace. I don't want to be in last place! Which is why I never compete or participate anything that is measured. I do not want to be disappointed with myself.
Right now I can run a 5k in 35 minutes. My goal is to get it in 30 minutes...big difference from where I am right now. Mark and Lily will be joining me, so it should calm my nerves. It will be fun, and I am excited to finally accomplish what I never thought I could do. The fat kid in PE who would walk a mile in almost 20 minutes will be running 3.10 miles in 30...kind of makes me excited. :)

Spring Break 2013
This week Mark was on spring break, and I was able to get one week off from work. What did we do with all this freedom? Go to San Diego of course!
Monday we went to the San Diego Zoo. We were hoping that Lily would get excited about the animals, but she was more interested in watching the people. To bad there isn't a zoo of people...actually I think that is called wal-mart. (lame joke). Lily got to pet some goats, I got to see the panda (which was kind of lame.) and Mark got to be freaked out by the caged snakes...I have discovered marks fear of snakes. Never knew! And yes, chasing him around with a fake snake has not gotten old since. Muaha!

Tuesday we were planning on spending the day around the beach, but Mark got the idea to look for tickets to sea world on Craigslist. He found tickets for half the price! So, we went to Sea World and Lily loved it. Probably cause the animals actually interact with the people instead of chillin' in the cage. Lily got to touch a star fish and I got to pet a sting ray. It was awesome. Mark was to afraid to touch it and thought I would die...silly man.

The dolphin show was a bit cheesy. Lily's face says it all. Note the king of the dolphins and the giant parrot woman...yeah.
They were slimy! Loved it.
This show was the best. Made me get all emotional when they started talking about conserving the planet. Brought back my captain planet days.
Wednesday we went to the beach...but it was too cold to stay. It was sad, we really wanted lily to play in the sand and water. Looks like we will have to make another trip in the summer. We did get to eat fish tacos at our favorite place on mission beach and we got to take a nap on the sand which was nice...so it was not a ruined day.

Overall, we had a very fun trip and enjoyed the time spent together. Today I spent the day with lily, we went to the park, shopped, ate lunch with Daddy (Mark) and worked on spring cleaning. It was so nice to spend time with my little lily. I have been feeling a lot of envy towards stay at home moms. They are so lucky to be able to spend all day with their sweeties. Hopefully, this will be my future...before lily gets to big!
