June 2021
What a busy month it has been! We had mine and Jacobs birthdays, Mark and I traveled to the Oregon Coast for a babymoon before Nacho comes and we had a little family vacation to San Diego before the kids start school in a couple weeks. The next month will be hanging low and prepping for the arrival of mr. Nachicho, and I think I'm looking forward to things being chill for a little while. I am NOT ready however for my little sweeties to go back to school! Gosh I'm going to miss them everyday.
Anyways, Jacob turned 6! We tried to make his birthday as special as possible, especially since he's been planning it since his 5th birthday. We had a little birthday party with friends at Fat Cats. We took them to see Peter Rabbit 2, and played archade games and ate pizza after. It was so fun to have all his closest little friends, and Lily's too, together again for some fun. They have not been able to get together very much due to their friends being in school and Lily doing homeschool. Then we went to Tucson so the rest of the Arizona family members could celebrate little Jacob. We went to play arcade games, breakfast and he even got his request for a Piggy Roblox Strawberru cake, which was actually fun to decorate. He got all the presents and more that he wanted and is offically spoiled rotten. We love our sweet little Jacob so much. He has been hilarious lately with some of the things he says, I need to be better about writing them down. Lately he likes to pretend he is a coffee drinker and asks for it in the morning. lol! He loves with all his heart to the point that he feels actual pain saying goodby to others. He says some pretty crazy stuff with his wild imagination and wants to be a horror story writer someday, but he is actually the most sensitive, kind hearted kid you will ever know. He is my special boo bear, loves to say he wants to marry me someday and tries to sneak kisses all the time. He is seriously mamas boy, and I am totally here for it! I love him so stinking much and he is going to make the best big brother! Happy Birthday my beautiful boy!

Then we went to San Diego when we got back with the kids so they could get a little vacation too. When we arrived to San Diego we visited La Jolla cove, which we'd never been to, and looked at the Seals and Sea lions. Jacob named the big sea lion 'big chungus' and we sawa little family with pups, so cute! Then had some yummy bbq from our favorite place, Phils bbq at the hotel, it was nice to have a little kitchen in the room! We spent day2 at Coronado beach where they boogie boarded and surfed all day. We got really sun burnt, but it was totally worth it! Coronado beach was our favorite, we even found a huge clam in the water! The weather was perfect, and the water felt great to swim in. We had a blast. Then we went to Corvet diner for dinner and games. The kids had a great time and I was surprised how much Mark and I enjoyed it too. Day 3 we swam in the morning at the hotel while mark worked and then off to La Jolla shores, we got some mexican seafood tacos and milk popsicle s to enjoy at the beach and continued with the boogie board/body boarding time. We also searched for sand crabs (Chanchitos) and I made the kids hold them which grossed them out at first and then they enjoyed it. Gelato, walking around the shops were all part of the fun too, but the star was the beach. We will need to do this every years. Day 4 we had breakfast with Aunt Lynn and walked around balboa park enjoying the art and vendors before heading back to AZ. We had a wonderful time with lots of fun memories made.
My birthday was wonderful, 37 now...wow. We had breakfast at Hen House, Swimming at the club, arcade games at fatcats and deep dish pizza and Pazookie at Oreganos. It was a perfect day spent with my favorite people on this earth. I love my little family.
We are now ready to begin preparing for his majesty, mr. Nacho. Had an appointmen last week to see how he is growing. Still got a big head (96-98 percentile) and body in the 76th percentile. He's a big boy...at least that's what the doctor always tells me. He is estimated to weigh about 4.14 lbs as of now. Overall they say he looks healthy, I got some pics, but he was cuddling with the placenta so they truned out funky. HE IS STILL BREACHED! Please please let him turn before I go into labor. I do not want to have a c-section! I am going to be doing a lot of yoga the next few weeks for him to turn. He has hiccups all the time (3-5 times per day) which freak me out. but i remember Jacob being the same way. His movements are getting stronger, which hurt sometimes, but I smile thru the pain. I feel huge lateley! I know I've gained more weight then I should, I am staying active and eating healthy so I'm just going to blame it on him and his big baby head. We think we may have a name in mind, but won't reveal till he's here. I have another ultrasound in three weeks, so hopefully he will no longer be breeched. We love him so much already and can't wait for his arrival next month. Just please, let us make it healthy and sound!
(Trying to post about Oregon, blogger is driving me nuts.)
Mark and I had a blast in Oregon together. We visited my old neighborhood, the elementary school, took him to the house I grew up in and took him around some of my favorite sposts downtown like the water front and Pittock Mansion. He was amazed by all of the green and loved all the bridges along the waterfront. It was hard sharing stories and seeing how much everything has changed from what I remember. The city has been run down due to riots and lots of homeless, which is sad, it used to be SO beautiful and full of life there. My neighborhood and town of Tualatin is almost un recognizable to me. lots of new businesses and the trees have grown so much, it looked so different, but still so beautiful. Even my old house is totally different, however the purgala my abuelito made for my mom is still up in the back yard and holding strong. We then went to Lincoln City where we stayed at an AirBNB and it was the cutest little cottage by the beach. We went to a bunch of beaches, walked around, ate lot of seafood every day we were there (honestly crab in every meal of the day). We drove up to Tillamook for some icecream at the creamery (that has changed a ton too) and went to my favorite beach in Ocean Side. It was just so beautiful. I miss that beauty so much. We visited a lighthouse and the aquarium. It was a short four days, Next year we will need to take the kids and stay longer. When we drove back to portland to catch our flight, they were having some of their hottest temps ever, 113! It was the same as Phoenix, but so much hotter because of the humidity. We drove around a Tesla to try it out, it was a different experience, but fun to try something new. Mark and I kept saying to eachother how wonderful our vacation was, It truly was the best with the one I love.

May and some of April....
I'm not even sure what I've missed writing about, but I'll try to catch up on our life right now.
We are doing good, now getting to the hot heat here in Arizona and wishing we could be in Utah like last year enjoying cooler weather. We have been having a lot of fun though at the country club pool, so that is keeping us entertained. Nanita and Ben were just left us today after being here for a week visiting. We had such a fun time with them going to the pool, eating yummy mexican food and going to fat cats. I especially enjoyed the deep conversations with my sister, which has actually helped me a lot to reevaluate my anxiety. My sister is always helpful in self realizations.
So, the most important updates are those that have to do with out little Nacho. He is growing. And apparently has a big noggin. I had an ultrasound about two weeks ago to check on his growth. His head is in the 96th percentile, to which both my doctor and ultrasound tech said 'sorry about that'...yikes, hope it balances out by the time he is born. His body is in the 66th percentile, so pretty normal. He was opening and closing his mouth during the ultrasound and sticking out his tongue, which was actullay so dang cute. He is currently breeched, so I'm really praying he turns by the time my body is ready to push him out. Otherwise, everything looks good! Which always puts me at ease. I'm always on edge, but I think that'll be the case till he is born and everything checks out healthy with both of us. He likes to kick me hardest in the morning when I wake up and when I'm walking around. He rolls around and I feel his kicks mostly below the belly button since he is breeched. The other day we went to the movies for the first time in over a year, and he was kicking me like crazy during the movie! I think he was enjoying the loud sounds during Cruella. A sister in my ward lent me her doppler and I got an app on my phone so we can hear his heartbeat. It's helped me in those days where I feel like he isn't moving as much as usual. I keep fearing the umbilical cord being caught around him, so hearing that his heartbeat is normal helps so much. I am now in the third trimester, lots of heartburn, sciatic nerve pain and I can't sleep very well at night, and I honestly can't wait for it to be August so he can finally be with our family and I don't have to be pregnant anymore. I also have to go in for a second glucose test cause the first one I did I was 140, which is the border between normal and abnormal...I was up all night with sick kids and running on two hours of sleep, so I wan't shocked I had failed. Hopefully I will pass the test on monday, I have been keeping track of all my food/calories and excersise everyday for an hour in the gym. If I have GD, it was going to happen no matter what I did...oye. I feel so negative. lol!
I recieved the second dose of the covid-19 vaccine about two weeks ago now. It was a really difficult decision to make, but one in the end I felt would be the best option to try to keep Nacho and me safe from the adverse affects of covid if ever we were to catch it. It is such a weird time to be pregnant. Usually you are just worried about the regular pregnancy stuff, healthy baby growth, gestational diebetes and preeclampsia risk, but now I have to worry about some stupid airborn virus potentialy killing me and my baby worst case scenario. I had to asses my risks. I am overweight, over 35, hispanic and pregnant with a compormised immune system. The risk was too high if I caught the virus and I felt strongly that I needed the vaccine. I had a lot of opposition in my way making the decision from family members who are anti-vaxxers. Making me feel that I was being irresponsible in injecting myself with a vaccine that hasn't been fully studied when it comes to pregnancy and worried that I would harm the baby. The day I needed to go in for my second dose, I started to panic and had a serious breakdown of fear of the 'what if nacho dies'. It was breaking my heart to think about it. Mark gave me a blessing, and we discussed my fears. I have been studying the vaccine since February. Actual scientific data, medical articles, peer reviews as well as the negatives of the vaccine, but everything I have read tells me it is wise to get the vaccine and I'd have nothing to fear. Mark posed the question 'why would others such as your family have more spiritual insight on what you should do for your life, then you do for yourself?' And I felt he was right. The lord helped me feel the peace I needed to know that what I was doing was the right thing for me. I have feared everything in my life that has been good for me, College, Mission, Marriage, Birthing babies, but all of those things came with risks, but all of those things turned out to be blessings in my life. When I have felt that something was not okay, or not for me, I have always felt confident clarity that it was not something I should do, without doubt. Of course, I still hope and pray that it was the right thing to do. It was helpful to have my ultrasound shortly after my second dose to see that Nacho was still alive and well. And I pray it stays that way. But now I am able to live with less fear and stress that I could get severly ill with covid. I still am masking in heavily populated spaces like the grocery store. The CDC says I don't have too, but my kids are still not vax'd and I don't want them to feel alone in having to wear a mask. Things right now with covid are kind of confusing. There are no more mask mandates in Arizona, yet there are still covid cases. CDC says you don't have to mask when vaccinated, yet you can't regulate who is and is not vaccinated. There are a lot of people who still refuse to get the vaccine due to it not being out long enough. They prayed for a vaccine and once they got one they faught against it? Kind of crazy. But then again I don't think it should be forced on anyone. There is a lot of division when it comes to the pandemic. It'll be interesting to see what history will write about this time. Numbers are way lower in the country right now, with the vaccine things have been feeling like they are going back to normal. But it really isn't over yet. We are just trying to figure out how to live with the virus. I feel saddness for the countries like India, brazil and parts of south america that have serious outbreaks right now and little access to vaccines. So much doubt, so much confusion for what is going on with the virus that cause governments to make unwise choices at the cost of their people. It's all so crazy. We are finally returning to church tomorrow, I've been helping with primary from home so I'm sure they are relieved I can be there in person now. I am anxious about returning though. I am still uneasy that we may be returning too soon and I worry about my children getting sick. Not just with covid, but with any sickness. Sick kids is the worst! Both of the kids had swimmers ear and were in alot of pain with slight fevers. It sucked! It's been over a year since they have been sick with anything, and I liked it that way. Now, feels like the dream is over and reality is slowly creaping in...boo!
Mark, Lily and Jacob have been doing really good. Jacob says hilarious things all the time and loves to talk about things that make me worry he plays to many video games. He likes me to make him hot chocolate and call it his coffee. He is very excited to be a big brother and likes to hug and tickle Nacho. Tonight he was petting my belly and said 'I hope Nacho is black. I don't have enough black family members.' lol! or yesterday I got into a debat with my sister, and she left the room heated. Jacob says, 'woah, that conversation was getting too loud for me to enjoy my tea' (he was drinking apple juice.) He is such a funny kid. Lily has been doing crossfit two times a week and has set some lofty goals to become a power lifter. She is very strong, and we are just working on form since mucsle building is not a thing for her right now. She deadlifted 135lbs the other day which was pretty sweet. I love how ambicous she is! She also managed to get all A's and one B on her report card, online school was hard, but she is so looking forward to returning to in person school in July. And Jacob is excited to finally start kindergarden! Mark is enjoying his new job, and being able to go the seville everyday after work with time to golf and lift. He's enjoying life a lot these days.
June will bring some fun stuff. Jacobs birthday coming up, and Mark and I are going to Portland Oregon to visit my hometown as a little babymoon before Nacho comes. Always hopeful things will go well in the future, but I enjoy the now as well, day by day.

Our little Peep is a BOY!!
We had our anatomy ultrasound on the 31st and found discovered we were not foolish for calling him Nacho all this time. We have been calling it a 'him' or a 'he' since the begining, both Mark and I had that strong feeling as well as my mom. Well, it was confirmed. Little Nacho it is. We are so thrilled to have another boy! And feel very fortunate to have another child in our eternal family line.
The ultrasound went well, he was all curled up with legs to his chest, crossed which made it difficult to get a gender result. But I saw what I needed to know it was a boy. After awhile the tech asked 'so any guesses?' I said boy. She, 'yup! I'm seeing that too. Though he is making it very hard to get a good picture because he doesn't want to open his legs, but I can see what we need to.' Finally we got a picture and sure enough, confirmed a boy. He had his little fists under his chin and was transverse in my belly meaning he is shoulder down first. His hr was 155bpm and he was nice and cozy leaning into my back. The doctor and Tech stated everything (heart, brain, and organs) looked healthy, so that helps to calm my nerves for a while. I have been feeling him move since week 14, and his beautiful little flutters give my heart so much peace. Feeling the babies move inside of you is the most beautiful feeling and makes all these nasty pregnancy struggles so worth it. We will keep praying that he stays healthy and happy. And, continue praying that my body stays healthy for him to grow.
We did not tell family about the gender until the Saturday before Easter Sunday. We went to Tucson and met up at Agua caliente park to celebrate my moms birthday. We hid four gold easter eggs which held the peep the color of the gender inside. After they found them, they opended them on the count of three and that's it! No one was surprised, they all felt it was a boy though lily was really hoping for a girl. Jacob was the happiest, he can't wait to be a big brother and show his mini me the ropes of life.
Right now I am two days shy of 20 weeks. My belly is way bigger then it was at this time with the other two, I feel like I'm 7 months prego, not 5! I hear this is normal, I've only gained 2 lbs from the begining, but I feel huge. My nausea comes and goes, but is mostly gone. Have lots of pelvic girldle pain which is common with third child, and welp, I'm older so all around more achey. My heart rate has been speeding up when resting, so I need to go get checked out by a cardiologist for peace of mind. Hopefully nothing to worry about there. With Jacob I had an extra heart beat and palpatations, but it was nothing life threating, may be the same thing. Just trying to always be positive, which is hard for me cause I am such a worrier. But as long as I feel those little kicks, I feel peace.
Now I just want time to speed up so we can see our little man! And we have to choose a name, which responsiblity has been given to Mark to decide...be afraid. lol.
